Srinagar, Feb. 7 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed concern over MP Engineer Rashid's health as his indefinite hunger strike entered its eighth day on Friday.

Earlier in the day, Engineer Rashid's party- Awami Itehad Party (AIP) said the MP has been shifted to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in New Delhi for medical attention.

In a post on X, Abdullah said the authorities should ensure that his condition does not deteriorate.

"Very concerned to hear about Engineer Rashid having to be shifted to hospital. It is imperative that authorities take proper care & ensure that his condition does not deteriorate while the court arrives at a considered decision on his bail plea, " Abdullah said.
