Jammu, Feb. 18 -- The District Jammu on Tuesday won an overall trophy on the closing day of the four-day-long Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Wushu Championship held here at Indoor Hall, Bhagwati Nagar.
Around 1200 players from 19 districts, six Khelo India Centres and J&K Police participated in the championship.
J&K Sports Minister Satish Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
He lauded the Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir for giving a platform to the young budding wushu players and reaching every nook and corner of the UT J&K to make this sport more prominent.
He said that sports is the priority for the government that is determined to make UT J&K a hub centre for sports in the coming years.
