Srinagar, April 29 -- Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have "closed" at least four dozen resorts and tourist destinations across the Valley amid security concerns, officials said on Tuesday.

The decision follows a comprehensive security audit carried out in all districts after a terror attack in Pahalgam last week, which left 25 tourists and a local resident dead. The audit aimed to assess vulnerabilities and strengthen the safety measures at popular tourist spots.

Among the prominent destinations now off-limits to tourists are Gurez Valley in Bandipora district; Yousmarg and Doodhpathri in Budgam; Aharbal, Kounsarnag, and Verinag in south Kashmir; Kaman Post in Baramulla; and the picturesque Bangus Valley in Kupwara.
