Srinagar, Jan. 27 -- Police achieved a significant success when they seized 6kg of narcotics and apprehended two individuals in separate incidents in Jammu Kashmir Anantnag district.
Police on Monday said that it established a naka (checkpoint) on the Sirhama link road in south Kashmir's Anantnag district during which a suspicious individual carrying a bag was asked to stop.
Upon noticing the police party, the individual attempted to flee but was swiftly and tactfully apprehended by the alert police team.
On initial questioning, the individual disclosed his identity as Abdul Rehman Mir a resident of Sirhama and upon searching his belongings, 1.270 kg of cannabis powder was recovered from his bag.
