Srinagar, Nov. 27 -- Intensifying their crackdown, the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday conducted raids across several districts, targeting the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) members and institutes.

The political religious group Jamaat has been banned since 2019.

Police said major raids were carried out in Srinagar, Kulgam, Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama, Awantipora, Handwara and Budgam districts to "dismantle the terror ecosystem and separatist propaganda of the proscribed organisation."In Kulgam, police said they conducted meticulously coordinated searches at multiple locations across the district, targeting individuals and premises linked to the banned Jamaat, proscribed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
