Jammu, Oct. 5 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today trapped and arrested a police personnel in a bribery case in Reasi district.
An ACB spokesman said Head Constable Mahroof Ahmed, posted at Police Station Mahore, District Reasi, was arrested for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000.
According to the complaint, the man had earlier been detained in a case and was granted interim bail by the court on September 25, 2025. The bail condition required him to report daily at PS Mahore between 10 am and 4 pm.
However, during this period, HC Mahroof Ahmed allegedly harassed him, kept him at the police station beyond the prescribed hours, and demanded Rs 8,000 for his timely release, the spokesman said.
