Srinagar, Sept. 11 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council today issued a public notice tightening regulations on privately owned de-addiction clinics and the use of narcotic and psychotropic substances in the union Territory.
Taking cognisance of the alleged misuse of such facilities, the Council said it has become necessary to regulate practices related to de-addiction treatment and the prescription or dispensation of drugs like Buprenorphine-Naloxone.
The notice issued by the Registrar and Secretary of the J&K Medical Council makes it mandatory for any medical practitioner seeking permanent registration with the J&K Medical Council for de-addiction treatment to submit an affidavit sworn before a Judicial Magistrate First Class.
