Srinagar, March 8 -- With an aim to boost admissions in government schools, J&K government has formally launched a 15-day enrollment drive across the valley.
The drive was launched on Friday- the day schools opened in Kashmir after nearly three months of winter vacations.
The enrollment drive was launched by the Director Education Kashmir (DSEK), G N Itoo from the remote hilly area of Gadole Vailoo in Anantnag district.
An official spokesman said the Director personally reached to the doorsteps of several parents and enrolled children on the spot.
The main event in this regard was held at the Government Higher Secondary School, Gadole Vailoo which was attended by a large number of children, parents, civil society members and teachers.
