Srinagar, Sept. 23 -- The Jammu and Kashmir cabinet led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today recommended to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha that the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly be convened starting October 13, officials said.
''Today, I chaired a Cabinet Meeting at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar, where we took a series of important decisions to further strengthen governance and accelerate development," J&K Chief Minister said in a post on social media. He didn't share any further details.
However, officials privy to development said the recommendation of the Cabinet meeting for holding a nearly week-long session from October 13 will now be forwarded to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for approval.
