Srinagar, Feb. 11 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday visited Sonamarg to take stock of the damage caused by the recent devastating fire incident and announced relief in favour of affected shopkeepers.

The Chief Minister expressed solidarity with the affected shopkeepers and sanctioned assistance under Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF).

On February 8, In a massive fire about 50 shops including restaurants and hotel rooms were gutted in the picturesque tourist destination of Sonamarg in Jammu Kashmir's Ganderbal district.

During his visit, the Chief Minister interacted with members of the Sonamarg Market Association, extending his sympathies and assuring them of the government's full support.
