Srinagar, June 14 -- J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has announced reopening of several tourist destinations and parks that were shut in the wake of Pahalgam terror attack from Tuesday.

The Jammu and Kashmir government had shut down around 50 tourist destinations and trekking trails in Kashmir on April 30, citing security reasons after the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead. The decision to close these destinations was taken for the "safety of the tourists" after the Pahalgam attack.

LG Sinha said the reopening of other tourist destinations would be done in a phased manner.
