Jammu, Aug. 11 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested two drug peddlers with contraband of heroin in Ramban district.
Police said that under the ongoing drive against drug menace, during a routine patrolling and traffic regulation duty at T-Chowk in Banihal, two suspicious pedestrians approaching from Railway Chowk, who attempted to flee upon noticing the police party, were nabbed. The alert officers promptly chased and apprehended both the individuals after a brief pursuit.
The individuals were identified as Umar Jaan, a resident of Bimna, Srinagar, and Arif Iqbal, resident of Shangus Chani, Anantnag.
Upon personal searches, 5.67 gms and 3.95 gms of heroin were recovered from their possessions.
