Jammu, May 23 -- The joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation early Friday, with no fresh exchange of firing taking place with terrorists in Chatroo area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir.
One army soldier was martyred on Thursday in the exchange of gunfight that erupted between security forces and the terrorists in the Singhpura area of Chatroo.
"The firing stopped Thursday evening and there has been no exchange of fire thereafter," official sources said.
They stated that massive search operation was launched jointly by the Special Operations Group of J&K Police, the Army and paramilitary forces to track down the terrorists hiding in the dense forest.
