Srinagar, Feb. 12 -- Kashmir Valley is experiencing colder nights and sunny days after the recent snowfall.

Over the last week, the nighttime temperatures all across the Kashmir valley were recorded below freezing point, while the day began with bright, sunny weather conditions.

On Sunday, Srinagar recorded the day's temperature at 14.5degC, which was 5.0degC above the normal of 9.5degC the previous day.

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar said the minimum temperature during the intervening nights of Sunday and Monday improved further by a few notches as Srinagar recorded a low of -3.6degC against the -4.7degC the previous night. It was 3.8degC below normal for the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
