Jammu, June 14 -- Launching crackdown against drug peddlers, police have arrested 89 offenders in the last two months in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Shailendra Singh here on Monday said that under Operation "Ek Yudh Nashe Ke Virudh", in the past two months, 89 offenders have been arrested in 76 cases FIR registered under NDPS Act and Excise Act in the last two months.

The top cop said that in recent cases on Sunday, police arrested one notorious drug peddler from Katra identified as Prithvi Chand of Ladda, tehsil Mongri-Udhampur with 19 grams of Charas (cannabis).

He said that in another action, police arrested one trucker while coming towards Katra from Kashmir valley.
