Patna, Oct. 13 -- Jan Suraj today announced its second list of 65 candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections, including 19 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 1 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 46 general category seats.
Founder Prashant Kishor told reporters that in line with the party's promise to provide representation to all social groups based on population, 14 candidates are from the Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs) (10 Hindus and 4 Muslims), 10 from Other Backward Classes (OBCs), 11 from the General category, and 14 from minority communities.
Additionally, to ensure participation of eligible SC and ST candidates in general category seats, one SC candidate has been nominated from the Harnauth Assembly constituency.
