Jammu, April 30 -- union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday reaffirmed the Government of India's commitment to "development through connectivity" as he flagged off the Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express service, describing the occasion as "making new history."He said the rail link would establish an "unbreakable and direct connection" between Jammu and the Kashmir Valley.
Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah were also present at the inaugural ceremony held at Jammu Tawi Railway Station for the launch of the direct Vande Bharat service to Srinagar.
