Jammu, Aug. 6 -- In a major crackdown, Jammu Police today nabbed a man with 120 rolls of banned nylon thread from the Pacca Danga area here.
A police spokesman here said that to curb the illegal sale and use of banned nylon thread (commonly known as Gattu), Police Station Pacca Danga conducted checking and apprehended one person in possession of the banned material, nylon thread (gattu).
During the operation, he said that two individuals travelling in a vehicle were intercepted.
One suspect, identified as Mahesh Kumar, a resident of Janipur Colony, fled from the spot, abandoning the vehicle, he added, and said that the co-passenger, Varun Raina of Karan Nagar, Jammu, was arrested on the spot.
