Jammu, Aug. 23 -- In a major breakthrough, police have busted a "Bunty-Babli" style marriage fraud nexus and arrested five persons, including a woman posing as a bride, in Chowki Choura area of Akhnoor.
Police said that on August 11, 2025, a case was registered at Police Station Akhnoor under relevant sections after receiving a complaint about a fraudulent marriage arrangement. The investigation was taken up by In-charge Police Post Chowki Choura, Vinay Kotwal, under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Rajesh Jasrotia and SDPO Akhnoor Varinder Gupta.
