Jammu, Sept. 26 -- The Special Branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police's Crime Branch today arrested the key accused in the August 21 shooting case that killed a woman from Mumbai and injured two others in the Sainik Colony area.

Mehjabeen Akil Sheikh (30), a resident of Mumbai, was killed in the shooting, while her sister Fatima (21) and Jaspreet Kaur (28) of Punjab sustained injuries. The incident took place inside a physiotherapy centre reportedly operating in a rented accommodation.

Official sources said the prime accused, Sher Singh, reportedly from Punjab, was apprehended by the Crime Branch special wing.
