Jammu, Dec. 28 -- The Government Railway Police Jammu, Wing of Jammu and Kashmir police has registered 18 cases this year and total 30 FIRs under sections of NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act in the last two years, which is manifold higher number to preceding period.

The official spokesman said that the action also led to the arrest of 33 drug peddlers, with seizures of contraband items worth more than Rs 1.65 crore market price.

"While tightening the noose on drug peddlers, Railway police sent two most notorious peddlers behind bars, under PITNDPS Act-1988, an action first time initiated by this unit against accused criminals," said the spokesman.
