Bhubaneswar, Sept. 24 -- Jamini Jhankar, a 30-year-old woman from the Chuktia Bhunjia tribe, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) living in the remote forested regions of Odisha's Nuapada district, has joined the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) as a research scholar.
She has successfully completed her research and been declared eligible for a Ph.D., becoming an inspiration for tribal children across the state.
Jamini's doctoral work focused on Vedic medicine, specifically the medicinal properties and dosage of Ayurvedic herbs.
She carried out extensive fieldwork in Nuapada and adjoining districts, engaging with traditional healers and Ayurvedic practitioners to document indigenous knowledge.
