Chandigarh, Nov. 20 -- A heated confrontation broke out in the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation House after Proposal No. 99 detailing the expenses for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's foundation-stone ceremony at Burlton Park Sports Hub was tabled.
BJP councillors strongly objected to the expenditure, questioning how the June 2025 event had accumulated nearly Rs 1.75 crore in bills.
The proposal lists a "special entertainment event" costing over Rs 1.12 crore, with an advance payment of Rs 25 lakh already released.
