Shimla, Feb. 19 -- Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Wednesday alleged that funds allocated under the Jal Jeevan Mission during the tenure of the previous BJP government were used for constructing rest houses instead of strengthening drinking water supply infrastructure.
He made the statement during Question Hour in the State Legislative Assembly.
Agnihotri said that 12 rest houses were constructed in the Dharampur Assembly constituency under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Of these, seven are operational and five are under construction. In addition, seven rest houses were built in the Siraj Assembly constituency, represented by former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
