Kangra, Sept. 10 -- Leader of Opposition in Himachal Pradesh and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur today expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting the disaster-hit areas of the state and announcing a relief package of Rs 1500 crore.

Addressing a press conference here, Thakur said that Narendra Modi is the first Prime Minister to visit Himachal Pradesh during such a disaster.

"The Prime Minister not only shared the pain of the people but also gave them courage and strength. Before even reaching Delhi, he sanctioned Rs 1500 crore for the relief and rehabilitation of the affected people," he said.
