New Delhi, Dec. 25 -- Senior Congress leader and former union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh on Thursday escalated his attack on the PM Modi led government, accusing union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav of "misleading and misinforming" the public regarding the protection of the Aravalli mountain range.
The row follows a sharp exchange on social media after Minister Yadav rejected claims that a Forest Survey of India (FSI) study predicted large-scale ecological damage under new government definitions. Yadav had previously asserted that the government remains committed to a "total ban" on mining in the Aravallis from Gujarat to Delhi and accused the Congress of "plundering" the range during its tenure.
