Srinagar, March 15 -- The J-K Peace Forum, an organization of Kashmiri Pandits, has strongly condemned the Centre's decision to ban the Awami Action Committee (AAC) led by Kashmir's chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, calling it unjust and detrimental to the peace and development of Jammu and Kashmir.
Last month, Mirwaiz and Forum president Satish Mahaldar met in Delhi and agreed to form a committee to bridge the gap between Kashmiri Muslims and Pandits.
Mahaldar urged the government to review its decision, stating that Mirwaiz is a respected religious and political leader dedicated to fostering peace, reconciliation, and addressing the hardships of Kashmiris.
