Srinagar, Oct. 25 -- People's Conference President and MLA Sajad Lone today accused the National Conference (NC) of cross-voting during the Rajya Sabha elections, calling the contest a "fixed match" between the NC and the BJP.

Lone, who had abstained from voting, claimed the BJP's victory in one of the four seats was the result of a pre-arranged deal. Lone said the outcome of the polls had "mathematically exposed" the manipulation.

Lone asserted that the NC had rigged the process to ensure the results. "Yesterday's Rajya Sabha election proved to be a fixed match between BJP and NC, where they agreed to give us three seats and take one for themselves," he said.
