IYC files complaint against Hosabale's Preamble remark
Bengaluru, June 29 -- A formal police complaint has been filed against Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale by the Karnataka unit of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) Legal Cell, following his contentious remarks on the Constitution's Preamble.
The complaint, lodged at Seshadripuram Police Station today, alleges that Hosabale's recent call to "reconsider and remove" the terms "socialist" and "secular" from the Preamble is an "attack on the constitutional ethos" and "incitement against the nation's founding values".
Hosabale made these remarks on June 26, while addressing an event marking the 50th anniversary of the Emergency. He claimed that the terms were not part of Dr B R Ambedkar's original Constitution ...
