Abidjan, Jan. 7 -- With car horns blaring, cheers ringing out, and vuvuzelas sounding, Cote d'Ivoire citizens burst into celebration after their national team defeated Burkina Faso 3-0 in the round-of-16 at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco on Tuesday night.
The Elephants opened the scoring in the 20th minute through forward Amad Diallo, who then turned provider for Yan Diomande to double the lead in the 32nd minute.
In the 87th minute, second-half substitute Bazoumana Toure sealed the victory following a solo run.
