Kozhikode, May 11 -- The Indian union Muslim League (IUML), the second largest constituent in the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala, has warned of political repercussions due to the week-long delay in naming the state's next Chief Minister.

Speaking to the media in Malappuram, IUML Malappuram district general secretary P. Abdul Hameed stated that the delay is causing widespread frustration, with people questioning the leadership "even at weddings and funerals".

"There is dissatisfaction everywhere. People are raising only this issue wherever we go, including at marriage functions and funerals," he said.
