Chennai, Jan. 4 -- It's raining cash and freebies in poll-bound Tamil Nadu as Chief Minister andruling DMK President MK Stalin on Sunday announced Rs 3,000 cash as Pongal gift for all riceration card holders.
In addition to the cash component, Mr Stalin also announced distribution of the usual gift hampercontaining raw rice, jaggery, spices and nuts as well as one full sugarcane to celebrate the traditionalfour-day harvest festival from Jamuary 14 to 17.
