Lausanne (Switzerland), Jan. 27 -- The International Skating union (ISU) has announced the appointment of Ruth Trevallion as head of athlete welfare and sustainability, the first such role among international sports federations.
The ISU said the move reflects its commitment to put athletes first by providing support not onlyin performance, but also in health, protection and long-term development.
Trevallion, who has worked with the International Equestrian Federation, Equestrian Australia and Rowing Australia, will lead the ISU's athlete welfare and protection programs, supporting skaters' physical and mental well-being, as well as education and career transitions.
