Tiraspol, July 25 -- There is still uncertainty between Moldova and Romania regarding the issue of recognizing borders, Transnistrian Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev told Sputnik.
"Since 2019, Moldova and Romania, a NATO country, have been jointly patrolling the common border. However, the two countries have not yet signed or ratified a bilateral agreement on mutual recognition of borders, which is part of the standard basic set of international legal norms of good neighborliness between sovereign countries," Ignatiev said.
The absence of such an agreement casts doubt on the completeness of the delimitation and demarcation of the Moldovan border, creating a potential zone of uncertainty, the minister said.
