Tel Aviv, Aug. 7 -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stressed that he does not plan to conquer and occupy the Gaza Strip, but rather plans to seize power in the region until a transitional administration can take things over, reports Times of Israel.
Issuing his clarification over his previous claims of annexing Gaza, he reiterated the country's primary objectives in the war, which include: the complete dismantling of Hamas and the unconditional return of all remaining hostages.
Netanyahu said that the conflict could end swiftly if Hamas were to lay down its arms and release the hostages.
