Tel Aviv, Aug. 14 -- Clarifying the reason for Mossad director David Barnea's visit to Qatar, a senior Israeli official said that it was purely for intelligence reasons, denying claims that he went to Doha for reaching a settlement for the release of hostages.
According to Times of Israel, the official said that the visit was strictly for Mossad business, with the intelligence officer telling Qatari Prime Minister Abdulrahman al-Thani, that any partial deals with Hamas regarding hostages are "off the table."
