United Nations, Oct. 9 -- Into the third day of Gaza peace talks in Egypt, there is no letup in Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, UN humanitarians said Wednesday.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said the offensive is "making the already dire humanitarian situation even more perilous."OCHA said its partners report that many people are unable to leave northern Gaza due to insecurity. People are sleeping outdoors and struggling to survive amid severe shortages of food and shelter.
The UN Satellite Centre has published a preliminary analysis on the extent of damage in Gaza City, encompassing 83 per cent of structures. It showed that approximately 81,000 housing units were damaged.
