Jerusalem, Jan. 14 -- Israel has adjusted its air defence deployment and raised its alert level as it steps up preparations for a possible escalation with Iran, Israeli media reported on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the political-security cabinet convened for a previously scheduled meeting to discuss developments related to Iran.
Israel's Army Radio reported that the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) had increased readiness for a range of potential escalation scenarios involving Iran and placed several military formations on heightened alert.
Public broadcaster Kan said changes had been made to Israel's air defence systems over the past 24 hours, including the deployment of the Iron Dome interceptor system.
