Imphal, Sept. 26 -- The Water Supply Maintenance Division No. II, Government of Manipur, has informed the public that water supply will remain irregular in several parts of Imphal due to deterioration in the quality of fresh raw water from the River Iril.
Officials stated that the river water has turned stinky and muddy, making it unfit for immediate treatment at the Porompat Water Treatment Plant.
This has directly affected water distribution to key areas of Imphal, including Officer Quarters Sanjenthong, JNIMS Hospital, New Checkon, Nongmeibung, Soibam Leikai, Ayangpalli Road, Khurai Kongpal, TV Tower area, Wangkhei Khunou, Rahmania, Top Khongnang Makhong, Thambalkhong, and adjoining localities.
