Caracas, Sept. 8 -- Irfaan Ali on Sunday was sworn in as president of Guyana at the presidential residence in the capital Georgetown, officially beginning his second presidential term, said local authorities.
Ali, as the candidate of the People's Progressive Party/Civic, won the general election held on Sept. 1 and was successfully re-elected as president, according to the Guyana Elections Commission.
