Baghdad, June 23 -- Iraq's top leaders on Sunday expressed deep concern over recent attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities, describing them as a dangerous escalation that threatens regional and international peace.
President Abdul Latif Rashid, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, Speaker of Parliament Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, and Supreme Judicial Council President Faiq Zaidan met to review the latest regional developments and assess the ramifications of the ongoing conflict, according to a statement from al-Sudani's media office.
The leaders reiterated Iraq's firm rejection of any violations of its sovereignty and airspace, as well as the use of Iraqi territory as a base for aggression against neighboring states.
