Baghdad, Feb. 24 -- The Iraqi National Intelligence Service (INIS) on Saturday announced the arrest of two local leaders of the extremist Islamic State (IS) militant group in an operation outside Iraq.

After intelligence tracking for years, Iraqi intelligence agents arrested "two dangerous IS terrorist leaders involved in the most heinous terrorist crimes in Iraq in an operation outside Iraq," according to an INIS statement.

The statement stated that intelligence personnel brought the detainees to justice in Iraq without mentioning the place of detention.
