Tehran, Sept. 29 -- Iran will engage in direct military action against the United States, in case of another future Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic, warned senior Iranian official and former chief commander of the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps).
Maj Gen Mohsen Rezaei, a former commander of the notorious paramilitary group and a member of Iran's Expediency Council, made his comments on state television amid rising tensions following the UN's reinstatement of sanctions on Iran under the snapback mechanism of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
The move has heightened regional apprehensions and been reported to have put Israel on heightened alert, reports Iran International.
