Tehran, June 13 -- Chief of Iran's General Staff Maj. Gen. Mohammad Bagheri was killed as a result of Israeli attacks on Iran, Iranian state television reported.

The Israel Defence Forces said in a statement Friday that the Israeli Air Force had struck dozens of targets in Iran linked to the country's nuclear program and military targets. Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesman for the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said Iran will not leave Israel's attack on Tehran unanswered. Ynet reported that Israel is preparing for powerful strikes also from Yemen, Lebanon and Syria.
