Tehran, March 6 -- Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei on Wednesday rejected "baseless" claims by British officials that Tehran seeks to threaten Britain's national security.
He made the refutation in a statement released by the ministry in response to anti-Iran statements by British Security Minister Dan Jarvis in an address on Tuesday to Britain's parliament.
Jarvis said he "will place the whole of the Iranian state, including its intelligence services, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and Ministry of Intelligence," into the enhanced tier of the upcoming Foreign Influence Registration Scheme, which is designed for protection against covert foreign influence.
