Tehran, April 19 -- Iran does not oppose the current government of Syria and is ready to help form an inclusive government if necessary, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday.
"We do not oppose the Syrian government, nor do we take any action against it. We are waiting for them to complete their work to establish security, peace and economic prosperity and to establish a legitimate and inclusive government of all ethnic groups in Syria. If and when we are asked for help, we will do so," Aragchi said in an interview with RT.
Iran does nor interact with the current Syrian government, and there is no rush to establish such relations, Aragchi also said.
