Moscow, April 20 -- Iran, as a full signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), is entitled to pursue peaceful nuclear energy, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali said.

Speaking in an interview published Monday in Sputnik, Jalali emphasized that Tehran intends to operate strictly within the framework of the treaty while planning its future nuclear activities.

"As full members of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, we must exercise all our rights arising from that treaty, particularly the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes," he said.
