Chennai, March 27 -- The Chennai police have arrested 24 people and
seized Rs 18,000 from them for selling tickets in black market during yesterday's
IPL match beween CSK and Gujarat Titans.
Police said 18 cases were registered in this connection.
Police sources said that as per the orders of Sandeep Rai Rathore, Commissioner
of Police, Greater Chennai Police, under the direct supervision of higher police
officers, the police team led by the Inspectors of police were engaged in intensive
surveillance and monitoring to arrest those who illegally sell tickets for the match.
In all, 83 tickets worth Rs.2,10,112/- and cash Rs.18,000/- were seized from them.
Later, appropriate legal action was taken against the 24 arrested accused.
