Lucknow, Feb. 6 -- The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested five members of an interstate drug trafficking gang that was supplying illegal narcotics to school children and nightclubs in Lucknow.
The arrests were made near Charbagh Railway Station, where the STF team recovered cocaine, opium, marijuana, organic cannabis, and MD drugs from the accused, officials said on Friday.
According to the STF, the gang was actively supplying drugs to students studying in reputed schools of Lucknow, as well as to parties, nightclubs, pubs, and bars in the city. Following intelligence inputs about the growing drug menace among schoolchildren, the STF launched an investigation that eventually led to the gang's arrest.
