Imphal, Sept. 28 -- A thirteen-year-old boy was found dead by hanging at Jiribam Higher Secondary School relief camp in Jiribam of Imphal today.
The boy, a Meitei who fled attack from another community, had been living in a relief camp for more than two years. His house was completely burnt down.
Over 60000 people displaced by the conflict, which began at Churachandpur district on May 3, 2023, are still languishing in relief camps in pathetic conditions. Over a hundred persons from Moreh and Churachandpur have died due to unnatural deaths like shock, anxiety and depression. Most of the relief camps have seen large numbers of deaths by suicide.
